With their racing budgets deemed “unnecessary expenditures,” GM and Chrysler are ordered to cease racing operations at the end of the season.

The Audacity!

Holy crap that scared me to death!!!  I’m a huge NASCAR fan and my buddies would kill me for “my President” doing that to our beloved sport.

Thankfully it’s just a believable April Fool’s joke.

The Price Is Right

I’m watching The Price Is Right and wondering, does anyone else still watch?

“Democracy is not my faith. And American democracy is not my idol. To see the gospel of Jesus Christ bastardized by imperial Christians and pulverized by Constantinian believers and then exploited by nihilistic elites of the American empire makes my blood boil. To be a Christian- a follower of Jesus Christ- is to love wisdom, love justice, and love freedom. This is the radical love in Christian freedom and the radical freedom in Christian love that embraces socratic questioning, prophetic witness, and tragicomic hope. If Christians do not exemplify this love and freedom, then we side with the nihilists of the Roman empire (cowardly elite romans and subjugated jews) who put Jesus to a humiliating death. Instead of receiving his love in freedom as a life-enhancing gift of grace, we end up believing in the idols of the empire that nailed him to the cross. I do not want to be numbered among those who sold their souls for a mess of pottage- who surrendered their democratic Christian identity for a comfortable place at the table of the American empire while, like Lazarus, the least of these cried out and I was too intoxicated with worldly power and might to hear, beckon, and heed their cries. To be a Christian is to live dangerously, honestly, freely- to step in the name of love as if you may land on nothing, yet to keep on stepping because the something that sustains you no empire can give you and no empire can take away. This is the kind of vision and courage required to enable the renewal of prophetic, democratic Christian identity in the age of the American empire.” —

Dr. West certainly knows how to present the truth!

Music is Free in China

walpaper:

“99% of music downloads in China are pirated. China’s biggest search engines surface up MP3’s to download on music searches. With no copyright laws to protect them, the 4 major music labels have embraced free music in China, allowing Google to make MP3’s available for download in China in return for a rev-share on advertising.”

ReadWriteWeb: Google Brings Free Music Downloads to China

via ffffree, Posted by ccarella

It was amazing how we are just now getting to the point where watching our favorite TV shows and movies online is normal but years ago this was normal in China, and for FREE!!!  Each time I have visited China I was able, in a couple of clicks, to watch movies that were recently released in theaters.  I didn’t have to use a torrent or search for hours.  Over there getting free music & movies is as easy as checking your email.

Jindal's journeys  → 2theadvocate.com

notthatkindagay:

Gov. Bobby Jindal bills his campaign when he crisscrosses the country to raise money for his re-election bid.

However, taxpayers pick up the tab for the state troopers who accompany him.

The state spent nearly $25,000 in eight months on plane tickets, hotel rooms, rental cars and meals on trips related to the governor’s out-of-state campaign fundraising efforts, according to a review of Louisiana State Police invoices and receipts.

Good thing they don’t have volcano monitoring in LA so the state can afford this explosion of spending!
