lovers in japan (acoustic) by coldplay

this is one of the most perfect songs i’ve heard in a long time. shut up, i know it’s coldplay, but the lyrics. the lyrics, and those guitars. listen to it at least once, if not on repeat for the rest of the day.

There is nothing wrong with Coldplay. I can’t get enough of this song!

What a Hyper-Partisan Far-Left Winger

notthatkindagay:

vondelpark:

Incoming chief-of-staff Rahm Emanuel after his meeting with Senate Republicans:

“The challenges facing the country require that people of both parties work together to solve those problems. I told them that I welcome their ideas, be that in their area of education, health care, taxes, energy policy, national security. Give us those ideas, because we are formulating what we’re going to do in the Obama administration.”

Definitely sounds to me like he’s “a vicious graceless partisan: narrow, hectic, unremittingly aggressive, vulgar, and impatient.” So much so that Nevada Senator and GOP Policy Committee chairman John Ensign said Emanuel displayed

“a really good attitude about wanting to work with us…He gave us all his personal cell phone. He said he promised to get back us on issues within 24 hours…His words were basically ‘this is not a head-fake on bipartisanship. This is real.’ They really want to work in a bipartisan fashion and it’s not about just saying it, they actually plan on doing it. Those are exactly the right words to use.”

Dick, dick, dick. Lastly, Texas Senator and incoming National Republican Senatorial Committee chairman John Cornyn said of Emanuel:

“He thought it was important enough to come over and spend an hour with us. [That] speaks volumes, more than just what he said.”

Could it be that Obama does in fact intend to keep his campaign promise to govern in a bipartisan manner? Might he have actually been telling the truth? Is it possible BHO is not a terror-loving terrorist? The GOP leadership seems to be changing its tune. How about you?

“Cry Me A River” by Glen Hansard

originally by Justin Timberlake

(posted by bunkercomplex)

A sign of a good artist is when he/she can take an awful pop song and make it sound great.

I got to see Glen perform this live in Dallas a while back.  The entire band did great!

“The NY Jets will upset the undefeated Titans next week in Tennessee.” —

NBC’s NFL Analyst Chris Collingsworth (via brooklynmutt)

I’m still pissed over that superbowl the Titans lost by 2 inches several years ago.

(via notthatkindagay)

Favre will lead the Jets to a win over Tennessee and onto the Super Bowl!!!

Most Psychiatric Conditions The Same Disorder? → nytimes.com

oomb:

tumbledore:

“Their idea is, in broad outline, straightforward. Dr. Crespi and Dr. Badcock propose that an evolutionary tug of war between genes from the father’s sperm and the mother’s egg can, in effect, tip brain development in one of two ways. A strong bias toward the father pushes a developing brain along the autistic spectrum, toward a fascination with objects, patterns, mechanical systems, at the expense of social development. A bias toward the mother moves the growing brain along what the researchers call the psychotic spectrum, toward hypersensitivity to mood, their own and others’. …

In short: autism and schizophrenia represent opposite ends of a spectrum that includes most, if not all, psychiatric and developmental brain disorders. The theory has no use for psychiatry’s many separate categories for disorders, and it would give genetic findings an entirely new dimension.”

(via DG)

This is very interesting.  If true, this would change a lot in the psychiatric world.
